Perth is OK!

A Clearer, More Accessible Research Platform
We delivered a modern WordPress website designed to clearly showcase WAMSI’s research and make complex content easier to navigate. With improved information architecture and enhanced search functionality, users can now quickly find publications, projects and insights, supporting WAMSI’s role as a trusted source of marine science across Western Australia.

Making Marine Research Easy to Explore

We designed a flexible projects hub that lets users quickly explore WAMSI’s work by region, theme and status. With clear visual cards, smart filtering and improved search, complex research programs are now easy to discover, helping stakeholders and the wider community find relevant projects without digging through layers of content.

WAMSI needed a website that could better reflect the breadth of our research experience. Working with Hatchet on WAMSI’s new website was a great experience. Hatchet really got what we were aiming for and came back with a design that’s clean, visual, and far more intuitive to navigate. One of the standout improvements is the enhanced searchability of our research publications, which were previously buried under layers of subpages. Now, users can easily access and explore our projects. The Hatchet team were incredibly patient, especially as our timelines stretched and we requested several new features. They were flexible and responsive throughout, and the end result is a site that’s not only beautiful but highly functional. Since going live with the new site, we’ve had loads of positive feedback from our partners and stakeholders and we’re really happy with the result.
